Four questions you need to ask yourself

Image
Hi Guys, In my daily walk through this life I have come across quite a few people who always seem to want to achieve certain things in their life but yet do nothing towards achieving it yet, they will swear to me that yea I really do want to exercise be in better health or get my body ready for that holiday, I really do want to get that website up and running and get my freelancing on because I hate my job etc etc. Well, I'm sure you have heard this saying before, If you keep doing what you're doing, you'll keep getting what you're getting. Yet, so many of us don't listen to our own better judgment. In fact, oftentimes the biggest difference between those of us who are making positive changes in our lives and those of us who aren't is not one’s superior abilities, but the courage that one has to just take consistent action. In other words, some of us sit and wait for the magic beans to arrive while the rest of us just get up and get to work. ...

The number one barrier to you living a better life.

You know we really don't realize how serious negative thinking is, and how much of an impact it has on our day to day life, did you know that the number one barrier to living a good life is negative thinking. We like to make life more complicated than it is! We believe the story's that we tell ourselves. But here's the thing and trust me now, and thank me later: all battles are won from the inside out. I was with a friend the other day and she's going through a mad tough mental battle right now because she believes that everything and everyone on the outside is the cause of her suffering on the inside. Let me remind you: The mind is your battleground ... ... it's the place where the fiercest and most ruthless conflict resides. ... where half of the things you feared were going to happen, never actually happen. ... where your expectations always get the best of you. ... where you fall victim to your own train of thought time and time again. If y...

Calmness is your superpower

Image
Good afternoon all, so this morning I posted some words about our superpower called calmness,   I just wanted to extend it and share with you, now one of the many ways to combat certain things that go on our heads and a practice that I use to do quite often was to write stuff down or affirmations down on a post it note or something.    So today I want you to challenge yourself to pick the one new reminder every morning for the next week and a half (roughly ten days), write it down someplace you can easily see it (perhaps write it on a post-it note), and then consciously recite it (at least three times) as needed throughout the day. See how doing so prompts you to respond to life with a calmer and more effective mindset. 1 Calmness begins the moment you take a deep breath and choose not to allow another person or event to control your thoughts. You are not what happened to you. You are what you choose to become in this moment. Let g...

Your attitude and what you need to know

Image
Hi all, a big thank you to you all for reading my blogs and my post, you may or may not know but one of the most important things to me whilst being alive on this earth is the art of self improvement.  Some walk in the direction of which I am traveling and I commend you for being connected, Loving and giving not only to yourself for when you give to yourself you give to others and vice versa, however some people unfortunately walk through life stuck in limbo running on a treadmill really fast but going no where and while we all do change as we grow up, some things about us don't change and we can carry these things with us for the rest of our lives picking up on the way up lets say not the best habits that take us away from that beautiful childhood dream we use to have and just knew one day I was going to become a singer or a famous rapper, dancer, the new Jimi Hendricks you get the message. or it takes us towards a miserable sad unhappy waiting for the world to change before I a...

Love is a decision

Image
We decide. People think experience is coming at them from the outside in but its actually coming through them from the inside out, we're always living in the feeling of our thinking not the feeling of the world, reality changes when viewed from different levels of understanding, the more we understand where our experience is coming from the less frightened we'll be of that experience. When our thought looks real we live in the world of suffering, when they look subjective, we live in a world full of choice, when they look arbitrary we live in a world of possibility and when we see them as illusory we wake up inside a world of dreams. A man will be imprisoned in a room with a door that's unlocked and opens inwards as long as it doesn't occur to him to pull the door rather than push. We're always living in the feeling of thought everyday. All too often we let the rejections of our past dictate every move we make. We literally do not know ourselves to be any...

A couple of things that help to get through tough thoughts

The human experience is something that is filled with love, passion, creativity, joy, connection, compassion, laughter… and the taste of chocolate. But because we as human beings learn, evolve and grow through life’s ups and downs, our experience also includes plenty of difficult situations that take a toll. The key that I have come to rely on is to not let life’s difficult situations get the best of me, and you don't have to either. Think about the most gut-wrenching situations you’ve endured in your life. Doing so likely brings up some very uncomfortable feelings. And the associated memories may stir anxiety, stress, anger or sadness, and thus, may continue to quietly affect the quality of your life. This is a predicament many of us face. Now imagine how you would feel if you were able to get over these feelings. And by “get over” I mean you no longer suffering over something that has happened in the distant past. I know this is possible because I have come to peac...

Your feeling thought in the moment.

I'm Nasir Brown, I work as an ABA Therapist by day, transformational coach, musician, writer of poetry and many other things I may be unaware of at this point in my life by now.:) My passion is being of value aiding and guiding people towards developing themselves generally. I work in Autism as an aba therpist which is, applied behaviour analyst, this works by applying the principles of behaviour to socially important situations. I have an embodied grounding in autism and continuelly leaning towards the understanding of the principles of thought being generated from moment to moment. And while not currently study the Clarity coaching by Jamie Smarte I am a part of the community and offer change work that will address all 3 misunderstandings which are, 1 a misunderstanding of who you really are 2 a misunderstanding of where your feelings/experience is coming from 3 a misunderstanding of what your up to in life. So today I wanted to share with you a sessio...
