1 thing can change everything

I remember speaking with a friend and her saying today is a new day, I said mmm what signifies this as a new day?

Well she had been experiencing some unfortuante things at that time and to her it was the end of life as she knew it however as it all began to subide she, at one point decided that today was the start of a new begining.

In actuality, no matter what day it is on the calendar, today is always a new beginning, for all of us. And we can prevent the wrong thoughts and beliefs from taking over or control as we move forward with our lives. We can train our minds to make the very best of the present moment, even when our circumstances may seem like its not the best at that perticular time. All it takes is...

Practice. Daily practice, every morning.

Now I'm no hypocrite, I dont practise every morning however most mornings I do but I have bene practising for well over 10 years to begin my day with clarity of mind and being conscious and aware of my behaviour, in Buddhism it is called mindfullness.

I have always been an advocate of morning routine, the morning is vital. It’s the foundation from which the day is built. And that’s why we have to be mindful of how we speak to ourselves when we first wake up. What we tell ourselves first thing in the morning is a big part of what we hear for the rest of the day.

If we are not mindful we will run off of our subconscious mind which has been programmed from the ages of 2-6 but we can reprogrm.

Positive morning reminders are honestly one of the simplest and most powerful tools for mental growth.

It’s all about keeping the right thoughts top of mind from the get-go every day, so they’re ready and  available on those hard days when you need them the most. For some, that has meant sitting down quietly every morning either before or after breakfast and reflecting on precisely the things you need to remember.

Some people call them affirmations, or prayers, or convictions, but in any case these positive morning reminders can keep you on track by keeping peaceful, productive thoughts and perspectives centered in your mind,  veryimportant remeber when those nto so good thoughts pop up be aware of them and bring yourself back to being present and aware of now those thoughts will slowly dissappear however I'm not going to say they wont come back but with practise they will dissappear quicker each time and it will become easier to let them go over time.

You will understand that peace does not mean to be in a place where there is no chaos, trouble, or hard realities to deal with—peace means to be in the midst of all those things and still remain mentally and emotionally centered.

This is one of our favorite morning reminders now (a short excerpt from the NEW edition of 1,000 Little Things Happy, Successful People Do Differently). and my challenge to you is—spend 60 seconds every morning this Summer reciting it to yourself as soon as you wake up, before you begin your day. See how doing so affects your mood and disposition throughout the day…

"Look around,
And be thankful right now.
For your health,
Your family,
Your friends,
And your home.
Nothing lasts forever."

Try it now.

Take a deep breath and read it out loud.

And as you say the words “health,” “family,” “friends,” and “home,” pause briefly and visualize each of them.

Think about what gifts they are, even if they’re imperfect.

Be grateful for them just as they are.

Instead of focusing on what you’d change about them, focus on what you love about them and how much value they add to your life.

As you repeat this reminder each morning, pause the same way you just did. Many of these everyday gratitudes are too easily forgotten. And they are critically important!

Truly caring for you

Biig luv Nasir.
